The much-anticipated 2024 Mazda3 Hatchback has arrived. With a sleek exterior, upmarket interior, responsive steering, and smooth handling, this compact motor looks as good as it drives. Read on and find out what you can expect when you head down to your local Mazda dealer and check out this new model for yourself.

From Your Local Mazda Dealer: The Basics of the 2024 Mazda3 Hatchback

Even at first glance, the Mazda3 is an impressive 5-passenger hatchback. Sleek lines, the black metallic finish on the 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and a glossy front grille scream style and sophistication. The interior is simple yet thoughtfully designed, reducing clutter by limiting switchgear and hiding away the air vents. Controls are still easy to locate and use while keeping your eyes on the road ahead.

The Mazda3 offers five different trims: Select Sport, Preferred, Carbon, Premium, Carbon Turbo, and Turbo Premium Plus. Higher-level models feature a host of standard extras, such as 8-way adjustable front seats, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, a navigation system, and a power sliding-glass moonroof.

New Features

Mazda is offering a new Carbon model for 2024. Available in Zircon Sand Metallic paint and decked out in dark trim with an interior of terracotta leather and black suede, it’s a smart-looking addition to the range. All-wheel drive also comes as standard on the Carbon trim.

Safety features added as standard on all 2024 Mazda3s include radar cruise control, rear door alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Base trims come with the basic 8.8-inch center display, while a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen has been installed as standard on all Turbo models. The infotainment system on the latter screen is also Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrated.

Engine and Transmission

Drivers have two options when it comes to engines. Entry-level trims are still powerful for their class, with the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder delivering 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. Choosing one of the higher-level Turbo trims gives you the option of a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that gives the hatchback an extra level of quickness when pressing on the gas.

The whole Mazda3 range comes equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. However, buyers of the Premium trim with front-wheel drive can have their vehicle outfitted with a six-speed manual instead.

Fuel Economy

The EPA estimates the Mazda3 hatchback with the base engine and FWD will earn you 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, or 30 mpg combined. This drops to 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with the turbocharged AWD.

The new Mazda3 Hatchback is as classy on the outside as on the inside. It’s also a dream to drive, handling as well on open highways as on twisty country roads. Visit Bommarito Mazda South County in St. Louis, MO today, and let our team show you the vehicle you’ve been waiting for.
